Brianna is the true Jill of All Trades! Never in my life have I met someone who is good at EVERYTHING, until I met my best friend. We met second semester of high school during our freshman year. She was new to the school and we instantly clicked! She’s always been creative, full of life, silly (the shenanigans we’ve gotten into over the years LOL), stylish, talented, and most importantly loving with a huge heart! I look up to her and admire her for her ambition, strength, and lust for life. A creative, innovator for all things Beauty & DIY, and beautiful Black Queen. I am truly inspired by her and I’m excited for what lies ahead for her business in the creative world.

Tell me a little bit about yourself? How did you meet Bree?
My name is Brianna, but y’all can call me Bri. I’m the owner of designedbyxavi: hand made Headwrap, headband, and mask sets. I’m also a wife and stay at home mommy to my 1.5 year old.
I met Bree 2nd semester of freshman year in high school. I was the new girl and she was so welcoming and sweet. We clicked and have been best friends ever since.
What inspired you to start your business? How long has it been up and running?
I have always worn scarves and loved wrapping my hair up before I even found out that headwraps were a thing. In 2013, I went natural and needed a way to protect my hair when I didn’t want to style it. I started out with scarves I’d wear around my neck, then worked my way up to shirts, and then leggings. Leggings were my go to because the elastic allowed the wraps to stay all day long. They never moved or budged. I didn’t have to adjust them. I decided I wanted to design headwraps with the waistband of the leggings in mind. That’s how the idea was born.
I’ve been up and running for three months now.
What is the main focus of your business?
I’m creating and sharing something that I love with the world. That’s the focus.
What do you hope your audience gains from viewing your content and purchasing your products?
I want those viewing to love and embrace who they are and express themselves how they see fit.
What does influence mean to you?
Influence means leaving an impression that’s positive, loving, and lasting. Simple.
What words of encouragement would you give others who may want to start a business?
Just do it. Don’t be afraid because others/someone in proximity got to it before you. Be you and you will shine. Your work will speak for itself. Also understand what it means to run a business. Do your research. It’s an undertaking, but watching people enjoy what you create/have to offer is so rewarding.
