Lullabies

Moments when you can’t sleep
Due to the sounds of your heartbeat
Radiating through your sheets …
A ticking, a clicking, an unfamiliar beat
Who knew that this would become my new lullaby
No longer have to plug in an IPod or create soft pitter patters on the belly of the wall;

Moments when you can’t sleep
Due to the sounds of your heartbeat
Radiating through your sheets …
The loudness raging within my body
Echoes once faint, become more clear to my ears
They say the sound would diminish over the years
and as annoying as it can be in this embryonic stage – I’d only hope that the sound doesn’t fade
That I’m constantly reminded of just how far we’ve come in technology
Though technological advances have only a minute significance
In happenstance, I’m reminded with every interchanging click, double ticks and relapsed mixes of rhythm
That this device was handcrafted by the One above
God given and God approved
He saw it , even before I was given permission to take flight in the womb

Moments when you can’t sleep
Due to the sounds of your heartbeat
Radiating through your sheets …

Darling, you’ll never sleep.

bisous, Bree ❤
